What’s so special about this image? Apart from the delicious flag flooring, lovely staircase and use of a door curtain (always a win in my book)? Answer:
@thecontentedmole has moved bouse and taken her curtains with her. Her brilliant curtainmaker @sianwinninteriors has remade the curtains to fit the new window and door. This tells me 3 things:
1. Annabel loved the fabric so much that she couldn’t bear to leave it behind
2. This fabric is versatile enough to work in an entirely new space
3. Well-made fabric is sustainable and long-lasting - much more so than high street curtains. Excellent result! #classicinteriors #bespokecurtains #crewelfabric #crewelcurtains #cottagecurtains

Good luck to Hamnet at the Oscars tonight! One of the best books I have ever read by @maggieofarrellofficial and we were lucky enough to supply fabric to the @hamnetmovie for dressing the set. I would love to tell you how much I loved the film, but the truth is I have a 10 year old son at home and the book nearly broke me, so I haven’t plucked up the courage to watch the film yet. Have you seen it? Tell me your thoughts! #hamnetmovie #hamnetoscars2026 #crewelfabric

It’s all in the lining! Most curtains have a thin cotton lining on the back of the curtain to cover the hems and the reverse of your chosen fabric. This is what you see from the outside of your house. The big secret is … interlining! An interlined curtain has a soft extra layer sandwiched between the fabric and the lining. Interlining makes curtains look sumptuous and drape beautifully, as well as absorbing sound and providing insulation. Any interlining has to be stitched to the main fabric and the lining so that the three fabrics drape as one (not recommended as a first sewing project!). We usually use a medium weight interlining, which makes for rich, heavy, luxurious curtains which will last a generation. #Luxurycurtains #curtaintips

A little small business admission of guilt… yes, I went skiing at the same time as my new fabric was launching on Instagram. And yes, that shot of me skiing was the viral Insta-trend of me standing still while my friends threw snow at me! #smallbusinessdilemma #smallbusinesswomen #skiingislife
