Need To Know

Request A Stock Cutting

Our fabric is a hand-embroidered fabric and, as such, imperfections and slight variations are an intrinsic value of the fabric.

If you require an exact colour match, please request a stock cutting which will be taken from the same fabric roll as your purchase.

Working Towards A Better Future

Welland & Wye is committed to reducing the impact of our products on the natural world. Our fabric grounds are natural products (either 100% linen or cotton). Our embroidery is made by skilled artisans in Kashmir, using handicraft skills native to the region for centuries.

Most important of all, we produce classic products; the heirlooms of the future, and the antithesis of a disposable culture.

How To Order

Our fabric is wholesale only. If you are an architect or interior designer with a VAT number and accredited trade references, please contact us Info@wellandandwye.co.uk If you are not a trade customer, please contact us for details of your nearest stockist, and we will be happy to help

Suitability

Our fabric passes the cigarette test specified in Schedule 4 Part 1 of the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988 (amended 2010).

For upholstery purposes it should be used with a Schedule 3 interliner.

For contract use we can arrange to make our fabric flame-retardant and stain-proof.

Dimensions and Content

Our crewels have an average width of 1400mm including an unembroidered selvedge on each side of approximately 250mm. Please contact us for the specific dimensions of each fabric.

Background cloth is either 100% linen or 100% cotton with 100% wool embroidery.

Due to the natural materials, like any colourful fabric, there may be a slow process of fading if the fabric is in direct sunlight, in our opinion this adds to the ageless beauty of the installation.
